Upon arrival, you will meet a Shiri Adventures representative who will assist with your transfer to the hotel. The hotel is well-equipped to ensure a comfortable stay, offering cozy rooms, hot water, friendly staff, a swimming pool, and Internet access.

In the evening, at 17:00, join our general pre-trek briefing and gear check at the hotel. Our managers will prepare you for the climb and ensure that you have everything you need.
You will be transferred from the airport in Kilimanjaro Airport.

This evening someone from our company will greet you and welcome you. They will make sure that everything is ready for your journey with us to begin.

Close to the center of Moshi but a little to the north and away from the city's busiest streets, Kilimanjaro Wonders Hotel is a good midrange hotel in an equally good location. Simple but tidy rooms ensure a quiet night's sleep. The hotel also has a swimming pool, restaurant, and even views of Mt Kilimanjaro whenever the clouds clear to the north.

Itinerary Overview
07:30 AM – Pick-up from Your Hotel in Moshi or Arusha
Your Shiri Adventures guide will meet you at your hotel for a scenic drive to the Marangu Gate (1,870m), the starting point of the Marangu Route. On arrival, you’ll register with the park authorities and receive a short briefing.

09:30 AM – Begin Your Hike into Kilimanjaro National Park
Set off through lush montane forest, where you'll encounter ancient trees draped in moss, colorful birdlife, and maybe even blue monkeys along the trail. This portion of the trail is well-maintained and moderately challenging.

12:30 PM – Arrive at Mandara Hut (2,700m)
After 3–4 hours of hiking, you’ll reach Mandara Hut, the first overnight stop for multi-day trekkers. Enjoy a packed lunch here while taking in views of the Maundi Crater and, on a clear day, glimpses of the snow-capped summit.

01:30 PM – Begin Descent
After a restful break, you'll begin the descent back down the same trail through the enchanting forest.

04:30 PM – Return to Marangu Gate & Transfer Back
Once back at the gate, you'll receive your Kilimanjaro Day Hike certificate from the Shiri Adventures team — a great keepsake. Then relax as you’re driven back to your hotel.

Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro is a special place and the first time that you descend onto the crater floor is like no other safari experience in Africa. This is a world unto itself, one where you’ll encounter the crater’s 600-strong population of hyenas, as well as critically endangered black rhinos. You’ll also find elephants with larger-than-average tusks, and more than 50 lions living in the crater. But it’s the sheer beauty of Ngorongoro that will most likely live longest in your memory. From early morning, mist rises from the crater, revealing steep, forested walls, secret waterways where hippos wallow, and a world of abundant wildlife hidden away from the rest of the world.

Tarangire National Park

We think you’ll be impressed with Tarangire National Park. Most visitors love the distinct shapes of the baobab trees silhouetted against the sky that make this place feel like a fairy-tale African landscape. Or visitors remember the elephants that roam in family bands everywhere throughout the park. If you’re lucky, you’ll also encounter the big cats – lions especially, but also cheetahs and leopards – that are always a possibility here. And there’s a fair degree of certainty that you will tick wildebeest, giraffe, hippo, buffalo and zebra off your wildlife-viewing list.
